Punjabi Movie Qissa to be Featured in 7th Abu Dhabi Film Festival:
The seventh Abu Dhabi Film Festival is going to be held by October 24th to 2nd November, 2013. ADFF will Focus on Indian cinema as the Bollywood is celebrating its glorious 100 years.
Those Actors and Movies will be highlighted during the film festival that have influenced the collective awareness of Indians Public and Critics. Festival will not show only masala movies. Modern Day filmmakers such as Aparna Sen, Nagraj Manjule, Richie Mehta and Anup Singh are some of the directors who will fly the Indian flag this year in Festival. All are acclaimed filmmakers who, through their films, have touched upon issues such as The mass expulsion and killing of one ethnic or religious group in an area by another ethnic or religious group in that area and displacement experienced in After the end of the end of colonial rule in India.
“Qissa – The Tale of a Lonely Ghost” is a 2013 Indian-German drama Punjabi film written and directed by Anup Singh. It was screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the Netpac Award for World or International Asian Film. It features India’s famous export Irrfan Khan, will be one of the many highlights of ADFF. Khan plays a Sikh who is forced to flee from his village while partition of India and Pakistan. Irrfan Khan, Tillotama Shome, Rasika Dugal, Tisca Chopra, Faezeh Jalali and Sonia Bindra etc. It is 109 minute movie released on 8th September 2013.
