King of Bollywood ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ likes to perform heroic character in all his movie except his negative roles in some of his 80’s released Parwana (1971), Gehri Chaal (1973) and to some extent in Don (1978). He made a return to the negative role with Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s debut directorial film ‘Aankhen’ back in 2002. Aankhen was the fourth highest grossing Bollywood film of 2002 followed by Devdas, Raaz and Saathiya.
Producer Gaurang Doshi has signed Anees Bazmee to make the long due sequel of ‘Aankhen’. In the original Vipul Amrutlal Shah debuted as a director but the cast and crew have been completely changed now except the Amitabh Bachchan. Anees Bazmee is a talented director has proven his abilities with big hits like ‘Singh is Kinng’, and ‘Ready’.
Did you know that the film had two endings; the makers felt the Indian audience will not fathom Amitabh Bachchan’s character was not getting justice. Hence the ending for the Indian audience had Amitabh repenting and being locked away by the police, the moralistic ending. The overseas ending shows Amitabh bribing the police and on the loose chasing Akshay Kumar and Arjun Rampal. But as the cast has been replaced, there is no chance to think of a continuation from the end of that story.
