Bollywood Star Akshay Kumar has always shown off his Punjabizm whenever it comes to ethnicity. Now Akshay Kumar feels that his kids should also stay in touch with their Punjabi roots. Akshay has decided to speak in Punjabi with his 11 year old son Aarav and daughter Nitara, who just turned one. To ensure they learn the language well, he has even apprised his staff to speak in the punjabi around his kids. Akshay and wife Twinkle Khanna celebrate various festivals, like Diwali and Holi at home, to stay in touch with their traditional values. To keep these values continue to their kids, Akshay wants their children to learn Punjabi.
An insider close to Akshay said that, Since Akshay and his family stay in Mumbai, Aarav speaks English and Hindi. But Akshay is keen that his kids learn Punjabi. So he has started speaking Punjabi when around them. He has instructed close friends, family and staff to speak as much Punjabi as possible.
He used to play pure punjabi characters in movies such as Singh is King (2008), Namastey London (2007), Patiala House (2011) and Khiladi 786 (2012). He is also making his debut in the Punjabi film industry with Gippy Grewal. He is producing Gippy Grewal’s upcoming movie ‘Bhaji in Problem’. He was associated with Punjabi Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh in Song ‘Lonely Lonely’ last year and now he has collaborated with Honey Singh again in movie boss’ title track, though it relates to haryanavi culture. He released a Punjabi Gurubani Album ‘Nirgun Raakh Liya’ and also remains present at Annual World Cup of Kabaddi in Punjab.
