Subhash Ghai to Make Film on Life of Sarbjit Singh

Bollywood Director and Producer Subhash Ghai is planning a film on the
life of Sarabjit Singh. Sarabjit Singh was an Indian national convicted
of terrorism and spying by a Pakistani court. He was tried and
convicted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan for a series of bomb attacks
in Lahore and Faisalabad that killed 14 bystanders in 1990. 
While
imprisoned, Sarabjit claimed he was a farmer who strayed into Pakistan
from his village located on the border, three months after the
bombings. According to unconfirmed sources Singh had been a spy for the
Research and Analysis Wing who had been working undercover in Pakistan.
On 26 April 2013 at about 4:30 pm, Sarabjit was attacked in the Central
Jail Lahore (Kot Lakhpat jail) allegedly by other prisoners with
bricks, sharp metal sheets, iron rods and blades. Later He died on May
2nd, 2013.
Although the Subhash Ghai has not been finalized yet, It is a rumour that the film will probably star Sonakshi Sinha as Dalbir Kaur, Sister of Sarbjit Singh “It’s a sensitive story and we feel it needs to be told. We have spoken to his family and they are quite okay with it. They have given their approval for the project,” Ghai said. He said “We are yet to cast the actors. We are in the process of casting and shall let you all know soon,” he said. Film could be started in first quarter of 2014. 
Meanwhile, Confirmed the cast and crew of his debut Punjabi film, “Double Di Trouble” starring Gippy Grewal, Dharmendra, Poonam Dhillon, Minissha Lamba Etc. The film will be directed by Smeep Kang and produced by Ghai’s production house Mukta Arts. Ghai said he is quite excited about his first Punjabi film. Dharmendra and Gippy Grewal both will be in double role.
