Nisha Chand, a young British Asian female runs the record label #One and is an award winning Film Composer. After writing for other artists and bands such as Culture Beat, Nisha is now working on her solo work as a Singer-Songwriter.
Nisha began her musical journey at the age 7 by taking Violin lessons. By the age of 9 she had performed in an orchestra at the Royal Albert and Festival Halls in London.
Her first theatrical commission was at the age of 16 for a London theatre production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Nisha has gone on to meet and / or work with some inspirational people, who admire her talents. This includes Sir Tim Rice, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Hollywood Composer David Arnold, Nitin Sawhney, Talvin Singh (project currently underway), Belle Humble, Rita Morar, Kulvinder Ghir, Nic Yeeles of SYCO, Geeta Basra, Dawn French, Paul O’Grady, Ellen and many more.
Nisha is an award-winning Film Composer, winning the New Media Film Festival Los Angeles (2012), London Short Film Festival (2013) and Stockport Film Festival 2013. She is also an accomplished Song-Writer with links to Universal Music, Musician, Music Producer, Actress (To Unwill a Heart – accredited and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2011) and Studio Engineer.
Nisha’s music is inspired by her experiences, all the sights and sounds of life especially of being born and bought up in London with Asian influences.
“Mere Dil Mein” is Nisha’s debut single being released worldwide on digital platforms, 24th May 2014. The single features the full produced version of the song, plus a special LIVE unplugged acoustic version which was recorded in one take. Nisha wrote, arranged and produced the song and has called her genre of music BindiPop! The B is for Bollywood, Indi for Indie music and Pop as Pop which are Nisha’s main musical influences as a songwriter.
The single was recorded at The Boogie Trap Studios in Chiswick, W4 where Nisha is currently working on her album entitled “Yaadein”. Mere Dil Mein is releasing globally on 24th May 2014.
