Fugly (2014) – Movie Review: F*UGLy is a story based on one life-changing incident of Four friends in Jat-dominated Delhi. F*UGLY follows the footsteps of the films like ‘Delhi Belly’ (Aamir Khan Production) and ‘Fukrey’ which take the national capital, throw in a clump of youngsters, mix them with a crazy and bad character.
According to Subhash K Jha (IANS) who rated the movie 4/5, Fugly is the new Rang De Basanti! A quartet of bright and confident newcomers and the ever-dependable Jimmy Sheirgill make this quirky dark yet uplifting flick a must watch.Director Kabir Sadanand nails the gripping goings-on with wallops of whimsy.

Vinod Talreja from Bollywoodlife says, ‘Contrary to what the trailers suggest, Fugly is surely not just a youth-centric and friendly drama. This film is quite unusual and at the same time very entertaining, with a thoughtful message that acts like a cherry on a cake.’ He rated the movie 3.5 stars out of 5.
Here is the worse thing for movie, Film critic Mohar Basu from Entertainment Site Koimoi.com has denied even rating a half star to F*UGLY. Mohar thinks, ‘For film critics, movies like Fugly is nothing less than traumatic. A bunch of haywire newbies find themselves lost in a plot that is ridiculous and lame which kills you by the end. If by God’s grace you survive the slang talk and sleaze show, the climax murders you. In a typical Rang De Basanti weds Highway climax done in all seriousness, there is no scope to laugh at it either. It is a plain, flat and bad film that must be avoided under every circumstance.’ He gave 0 to this movie.
He is not the only critic to rate F*UGLY zero, Raja Sen from Rediff ( 0/5 ), Shubhra Gupta from Indian Express (1.5/5), Saibal Chaterjee from NDTV (1.5/5) are also not in a mood to accept this movie in any way.
